How to Evaluate Kelviz With Your Own Fleet Data

The best way to evaluate toll software isn't a demo file — build a trial dataset with the exceptions you deal with today.

Testing how the system explains a repeated file or a malformed row matters more than a clean-path demo — this is what that explanation looks like in the product.

The best way to evaluate toll software isn't a perfect demo file — it's a representative slice of your own fleet data, containing routine records and the exceptions that actually consume your time today. A clean sample file tells you almost nothing about how a product handles the messy edge cases that make up the real workload.

Prepare a trial dataset that actually stresses the product

Include a normal provider export, an overlapping export containing real duplicates, reservation history covering the same period, a moved or unknown transponder, back-to-back trips, at least one unmatched toll, a parking or traffic-ticket document, and a charge close to its reimbursement deadline — protecting personal data and following platform rules while preparing the files. See Is Toll-Reconciliation Software Worth It for a Small Turo Fleet? for the ROI side of this same decision.

Define success before testing, then test failure conditions on purpose

Measure import time, new/duplicate/rejected row counts, match accuracy, review workload, the causes behind whatever stays unresolved, evidence organization, deadline visibility, exports, and team usability — decided in advance, not judged after the fact by whichever number looks best. Then deliberately reimport the same file, use a malformed row, and create a plate mismatch to see how the system actually explains the problem — recovery from imperfect data matters more than a clean-path demo ever will.

Compare against your current process, and verify every claim directly

Process the same sample manually and record total time, corrections, matches, unresolved items, and reporting effort — without counting submitted value as paid recovery, since those are two different things. Confirm supported file formats, OCR behavior, roles, exports, security, pricing, and any Turo or toll-agency connection directly in the current product rather than from marketing copy alone. Kelviz's paid plans are free for the first billing month rather than a fixed trial length, which is what makes it practical to run this full comparison against a real toll period before deciding.

Frequently asked questions

How much data should a trial actually include?

Enough to cover normal volume and the meaningful exceptions you actually deal with — without turning the trial into an uncontrolled production migration.

Should a trial only measure the automatic match rate?

No — accuracy, explanations, review effort, duplicate controls, evidence handling, deadline tracking, and outcome tracking all matter just as much as the raw match rate.
