Turo Toll Dispute Response Template for Hosts
Respond to a specific dispute reason with the evidence chain, not a generic statement dump — plus a second version for when the guest turns out to be right.

A dispute response should address the guest's specific concern and show the actual evidence chain — not argue personally or resend the same generic receipt. See What to Do When a Turo Guest Disputes a Toll Charge for the fuller investigation process this template assumes you've already done.
Template
"Hi [Guest first name], thank you for flagging the charge. I reviewed the original [toll authority] transaction and the reservation again. The record shows the [vehicle/plate or masked transponder] at [location] on [date and time], which falls within the trip from [start] to [end]. The itemized amount is [amount], excluding [any unrelated or ineligible fees]. I've provided the supporting provider record through Turo's dispute process. If your concern is [duplicate/timing/location/amount], the relevant detail is [brief factual response]. I'll follow Turo's review decision."
When the guest turns out to be correct
"Thank you for pointing this out. After reviewing the source record, I found [the transaction was duplicated / the timestamp falls outside your trip / the amount was incorrect]. I'm correcting the reimbursement through Turo's authorized process. I apologize for the error." Don't be reluctant to send this version — a fast, factual correction is a stronger long-term position than defending a charge the evidence doesn't actually support.
Evidence to have on hand before responding
The provider transaction ID, travel timestamp and location, plate or transponder, reservation window, itemized eligible amount, a duplicate check, and the original source record — gather all of it before drafting either version of the response, so the reply is accurate on the first try rather than needing a follow-up correction.
