How automatic matching works
What signals the matching engine uses to link a toll transaction to a reservation, and how confident it is.

Matching priority
Each toll transaction is scored against candidate reservations by resolving it to a vehicle first through the active transponder assignment mounted at the time of the transaction, then falling back to the license plate on the transaction, in that priority order. The candidate reservation is the one whose trip window covers when the toll occurred.
Confidence, not certainty
A match's confidence score reflects how strong the matching signals were — it is a scored suggestion, not a guarantee. A high-confidence match is auto-matched; a lower-confidence one is left for a human to review. Automatic matching never bills anyone by itself — see Guest Billing and Recovery for the separate, human-reviewed step where a matched toll actually becomes a charge to a guest.
